One last hurrah!

We took a trip to Natural Bridges State Park last Saturday, the weather was so warm for Santa Cruz. It was a really great beach day. We went with the intent to do some tidepooling and scheduled our trip around low tide but there was almost nothing to see. I am not sure why....maybe with all the icebergs melting low tide isn't so low anymore? We did find a crab and the kids were way excited about that. There was also a sea lion passing by. We had a lot of fun on the rocks, on the sand and Cate enjoyed the cold water alone (we're wusses). Kian had fun jumping off a little rock ledge into the sand over and over and making Ryan and I take turns doing it with him, he's not much of a daredevil so it was pretty cute to see him jumping a scary twenty-four inches. There were loads of sailboats and surfers out, it was fun for the kids to see humans surfing since they have been watching 'Surf's Up' (with penguins) a lot lately. What a great end of summer trip! We'll have to go back for monarch season.
